TWMC's Trail Boss Report
December '06 Newsletter 9th ANNUAL WICKED BIRD ENDURO I would like to start by thanking Dick Cressy for letting me work with him. He is a great guy and a hard worker who likes to get things done. We work together well and have developed a friendship. Over the years we’ve had lots of help, to include Steve Boudreaux and Tim Moore who were always there and always offered help, also we’ve had Coondog help from time to time, thank you guys. All TWMC outings are a group effort and I’d like to thank Tim Moore for offering to do sign-up (Tim, that is another one I owe you). Brian Willis, though not a club member anymore, was always there to help with checks. At the end we grew to expect him and probably forgot to mention to him just how much his volunteering helped. Thanks to David George and crew for doing the Beginner’s Course, and Andy Naylor for the Junior Course. Volunteers for check help were Annie, Dan and Kyle Knight (nice to see Kyle again, sporting his body builder’s biceps, good work Kyle), and Dan Clark. And of course all the riders for making this event possible and helping pull ribbon. We have to mention Desert Pipeline (though they probably didn’t know they were contributing hats and cups), thanks anyway. The GPS Poker Run was extra great for 4 members who won $100 to $30. Also, I want to thank all the women who helped with the Pot Luck Dinner (my personal favorite part of the outing). Jacqúe Moore for the plastic wear, Karen Knight for advice and that wonderful dessert (I want that recipe), and Diana Cressy for about everything. She is one of those women working behind the scenes silently making sure everything is done, thank you again. We were really lucky this year as the weather cooperated, giving us Summer weather in the Fall. The course was technical and this event was a time keeper in contrast to the past where it approached a hare n’ hound in appearance. We heard compliments for those that finished. From Dick: I would just like to say I enjoyed working on the races. And I hope everyone else had a good time also. Oh, and Desert Pipeline knows about all the hats and cups!! Phil Johnson is a good boss. The best. Again, thank you for your support... PHIL WHITE Return to previous page... |
